Alaska: Two dogs die during 1,000-mile Iditarod – prompting fresh calls for ‘despicable race’ to be banned | World News


Two canine have died throughout Alaska’s annual 1,000-mile canine sled pageant – prompting brandnew requires the race to be blocked.

The dogs had been a part of detached groups. Their mushers, Issac Teaford and Hunter Keefe, each willingly withdrew from the race.

Its senior vice chairman Colleen O’Brien stated: “The death count keeps climbing for dogs who are forced to run until their bodies break down, all so the human winner can get a trophy while the dogs get an icy grave.

“PETA is asking for this despicable race to finish.”
